I am having problems with my Dodge 2002 Ram Quad Cab 4.7L truck starting. Last week I went to start the truck in the morning and was like the battery was dead. Only after turning the switch on and off a number of times that the truck started. Did a load test on the battery and it appears that the battery was bad. The battery was the original factory battery.

I bought a new battery Sunday evening no problems in starting the truck on Monday, but on Tuesday morning I went to start the truck and the starter would engage but would not turn over, it was like the motor had seized up, you could feel the truck engine move but not turn over. Only after turning the starter switch on and off a number of times the engine finely turned over but it took 10 seconds before the engine fired after the engine turned over.

I am clueless as to what is going on. On one hand I believe it may be the starter but now I am not sure. While driving the engine runs fine. Anybody after a clue?

Hello
If the engine crank but will not start then I would check it for tune up as a 1st step
if starter just click engine will not crank I would say check and or replace the starter
good luck
