My engine light is on showing codes 442 and 455. Gas cap is good and I can't find any vacuum leaks. While driving under load the heater works fine. At idle or while coasting down a hill the heater blows cold air and the air will change from the floor to the dash vents. Gas mileage went from 19 mpg to 15 mpg.

If its not a vacuum leak check for fuel peak
not all vacuum leaks are easy to locate and you may need a smoke machine help to check for the leak

as for the heat check vacuum supply line for cracks
or if it is unseated
when ever Loss of vacuum occur heater system automatically default to defrost
