i have a 02 ram 1500 and its driving me nuts, when im driving it it seems to not wanna go past 40 i can floor it and the rpms dont wanna move, it seems to start to stall then it kicks in and goes. but thats not all some times when im approaching a stop the engine seem to start putting then dies out, it starts right back up. it dosent do this all the time just once in a while, its under warrenty and the repair shop just keeps giving it back to me and saying its fixed. I have had the truck for three months but only have drove it maybe two weeks, they have had it the hole time. I have to take it back again monday. do you have any ideas? they replaced the fuel pump and the pc said the truck is fine.

Has the check engine light ever come on? Also, make sure the catylatic converter isn't plugging.

Make sure the converter isn't plugged. Check for back pressure from the exhaust

Hi:
A plugged converter will stop most of the pressure from the exhaust. Many times it will make a whisteling sound. If you want, you can rent a gauge from the local parts store that plugs in where the O2 sensor is. You check back pressure both before and after the converter to see if there is a big difference. Also, listen for ratteling from inside the converter or just temporarly disconnect it to see if there is a change.
