1999 Dodge Ram backfireing

My 99 dodge ram 1500 tends to back fire when i give it very little gas say when im starting to take off at a slow speed. It also makes a loud vaccum sound when i give it gas. If I push the throttle down it takes off and runs fine at higher speeds. sometimes at idle it will start to run rough for a minute then it will clear up and be fine.
