I'm driving and accelerate the AC stops coming out the vents and comes out the defrosters

Ok I have the above truck 5.9 when i'm driving and accelerate the AC stops coming out the vents and comes out the defrosters, if I let off the gas it comes back out the vents. Went to Dodge they said it was a bad vacuum check valve, another guy there said 98's didn't have the check valve, anyone else ever have this problem or know how to fix it, winter is coming and it does the same thing with the heat, thanks in advance for any help with this

Hello,

It does sound like an issue with the check valve, and yes, this truck does have a vacuum check valve for the A/C system.

The check valve is located on the side of the upper part of the intake manifold (see diagram below).
