1998 Dodge Ram 1500 - electrical problem

1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 65,000 miles. I have tilt steering and when I pull my steering wheel down the radio, blinker, and wipers quit working. I am assuming a wire is being pinched in the steering column. Do you know what color wire(s) I should be trying to trace down? Anything else that could be causing this that you have heard of?
Thanks,

I had a problem like this with my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500.
When I tilted the steering wheel my truck wouldn't start so I took it to a mechanic. He stated that the wires were too short and needed to be longer. I have never had a problem since.
