1996 Dodge Ram Swapped Engine but wont crank

I am a mechanic for a reputable shop and I just swapped a v10 on a 96 ram dually. But after i got through the engine spun over but wouldnt crank. So then i checked for fire at the coils and naturally no fire. Then i checked my crank and cam sensors and found that my crank sensor does not have a good ground. So then i looked to my ground connections and found no problems unless they are in the wrong place but they read engine grounds on the wiring diagram and i have them grounded to the block but still no fire. Then i jumpered a straight ground to the ground on the crank sensor wire and the truck ran but the ground jumper i ran started getting hot........ so now what? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
