My son has a beautiful 96 Dodge Ram 4 wheel drive. I love it and want to buy a new one, but his front U-joints will not last over 10,000 miles.

Is this inherent or something wrong?

This isn't a common problem. Check to make sure the drive shaft isn't bent or out of balance. Also, check for play in the transfer case output bearing and the front differential input.

Let me know what you find. Also, is there ever a vibration when you first replace the joints?
