My truck appearently is too old to have codes to say whats wrong. The mechanic has been stumped for a while too. I went into a ditch the other day while driving my Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. Ever scince then it has not turned over when the key ignition is turned. It had to happen due to impact. There is no clicking, no cranking. the radio and air, lights and windows come on. But no turning over. The battery is perfect and the starter is too says the mechanic. I cant figure out what it could be. It has never had a history of any kind of engine trouble. If anything it has always run perfect up until this point. What in the world could it be?

Your truck does store codes, but this type of problem won't show up. Try this. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for power at the smaller wire at the starter. You should have 12 volts. Let me know what you find.

The problem turned out to be that some wires that deliver electricity to ignition and back were knocked loose and had to be reconnected.

Hello, my boyfriends truck is having the same problem, he has replaced the battery, starter, and the yellow plug in his truck. He uses the truck to get to school and he's really stressed out about this. I would appreciate the help very much!

What year and model truck does he have? I am assuming it is a 1995 Ram with the same engine but if its not, we need to start a new post with the specific information. I understand if you don't have it so we either need to relay the info back and forth or he submits it directly.

We need to find out if he has voltage to the starter on the Brown and red wire. Have him turn the key on and measure it and then crank the engine and tell me what he has on both wires in both positions. This will tell us which direction to go. Thanks
