This truck is going in for it's fourth fuel pump. Is there a good reason for this? The last one only has 34k miles on it and was replaced about 1 1/2 yrs ago. The pump still works because the truck will run for about 5-10 seconds before stalling. Try giving it more throttle and it dies. It will restart after a minute or so but do the same thing.

Before you install the next pump, have the tank steam cleaned.

Are you replacing just the pump or the whole assembly from Chrysler. If just the pump, you still have the pickup screen which is likely plugged. It's collecting the microscopic crap that steam cleaning removes.

Part of your description also sounds like a defective MAP sensor.

It was not the fuel pump after all. I removed the bed of the truck to get at the tank instead of dropping the tank. it was much easier to work on this way and to test all of the connections for continuity and lo and behold it was a cute little chipmunk that chewed through the ground wire up on the intake manifold. At least I didnt have to pay a mechanic for this but it was only found by accident. Saved me big $$ but it was alot of work for nothing almost. I mean how else could I have found this out without exposing the stupid pump in the tank? Well it is fixed and over with so the old pump worked fine but I ended up putting a new one in anyhow for $200 so it was worth it.
