My dad passed in 1998 & his Ram stayed stored since only used one monthly for a short trip here & there since. I live in another state & I picked it up this weekend to bring it back and restore it a bit. It idles rough but runs fairly smoothly at 35-45 mph (other than inclines). Should I begin my troubleshooting with the timing & carburator, then move to the plugs, distributor, etc?

Thanks

Hi:
Did you replace the gas in it? Also, a tune-up never hurts, especially if the truck was bearly used. Also, make sure the catylatic converter isn't plugging-up.

Let me know if this helps. If not, we'll move on. Also, are you sure it has a carb and not TBI?
