I own a 1985 Dodge ram d-100, 2 w/d, 6 cyl. With about 125,000 miles on it. I only use it to get back and forth to work so i'm trying to get one more year out of it. I'm having trouble with my left rear taillight/brake light. Its very dim and when my tail lights are on my brake light doesnt work. The right side is fine.

It sounds like you have a ground problem try hooking a jumper wire to the ground side of the or base of the bulb holder and then to a clean metal location. If that changes your brightness then you need to find the connection point of the ground and clean that up. Or replace the ground wire
