MODELS ENGINE PROBLEM

1985 Dodge Other

Warranty problem
1985 Other Dodge Models 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 190000 miles

I had a remanufactured engine installed in 2006. They day I picked up the vehicle I noticed that there were vibrations and a dragging noise coming from the engine while in drive and at a stand still I informed the installer of this the following day. I took it in a week later and they listened to the engine and said it was okay. Last month while driving to work the vehicle begin to shake, run rough with a smell of antifreeze. I had it towed because the vehicle began to run towards hot. Antifreeze was leaking from the rear of the head. They replaced the manifold gasket. That didn't stop the leak. Next they said it was a warped intake manifold. After replacing this item still leaking. Now they say it is a blown head gasket or cracked head. I was charged twice for the repairs. I thought the manifold should have been checked for warping before reinstalling. I also belive the earlier engine problems are related. The warranty company wants to examine the head gasket for defects. Do you think there is a correlation between what initially occured with vehicle performance problems? I believe if they checked the manifold the first time for warping it would have prevented me from paying to redo the job that should have been done in one step. I have a 3 year warranty with 75,000 miles. Cost 581.00

Hi: If the engine was replaced with a reman isn't it under warranty? Regardless, most people check if a falty part such as an intake manifold is warped prior to installation. What V6 is it?
