2007 Dodge Nitro Short Circut

Electrical problem
2007 Dodge Nitro 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 30,000 miles

I hooked up a aftermarket trailer brake control and when I plugged in the connector to the controller it blew the 25 amp in line fuse that is connected to the positive battery cable. I disconnected the connector to the module.

When I went to start the car it would not start. The fuse blew immediatley and there were not hot wires or a servere short. The vehicle has a module that controll turning head lights off if left on and dims interior lights. The engine will not crank when you turn key to start position. The head lights won't go on. none of the accessories work. I here a clicking noise from the rear of the vehicle. When I disconnect the negative battery cable all the relays buzz in the intergrated power module.

It seems like something has to be reset because the circut did not get hot to cause a major problem. The fuse blew when I was comlpetting the ground circut for the brake module.

Look at the Totallt intergated power module, it's on the left side of the engine bay, look for CB-1, 9Circuit breaker 1) Reset it or test it for continuity.
