I own a 2000 Dodge Neon, Milage: 134,000, I turned on my a/c for the first time this year and it was working fine, now there is no cold air and only hot air is coming out and it also started making this weird sound, the sound would come on then it would go away and it does that non-stop as long as I leave the a/c on, when I turn the a/c off the sound goes away. I called a place to see how much it would run me to have it checked and I was told about 50 to 100 bucks just to have it checked. Help me out guys!

You can pick up a recharging kit at a local auto parts store. The sound could be from not enough oil in the system, follow the instructiions for recharging the system, the recharging kit should come with a can of oil charge and o ring conditioner.

Sounds as if your compressor is getting ready ro lay an egg. Most shops won't charge diagnostics if they perform the repairs.
