2002 Dodge Neon Car seems to want to shut down while drivin

Hi everyone!
Am having problem with my dodge neon 2002.
Let's say I hope in the car and turn the ignition the car starts up and feels like it wants to shut down, but doesn't most of the time. Other times while am driving and I slow or come to a full stop she starts to shake abit and seems to want to shut down, even if i step on the gas for let's sat 5 seconds it still wants to shut down and after the 5 seconds or more it runs normal again but not perfect.
When I shift between D, 1 or 3 it gives me the same amount of power doesn't shift at all !!!
Can anyone out there give me some tips on this please??

HAs the check engine light come on? When was the last tune up? Has the fuel pressure been tested? Have you checked for vacuum leaks or if the catylatic converter may be starting to plug?
