1998 Dodge Neon Repair Question

1998 Dodge Neon starter
when i try to start the car the starter makes asingle click like the starter is engaging with the flywheel it just wont turn over. the starter is a bosch starter installed about three years ago. could it be bad or maybe just something else?

check the oil
and if OK
i would say the starter no good
