I drove my car ('98 Dodge Neon) home and all was normal and running as usual. Parked it for the night.
Tried to leave in the morning and although in Drive it just acted like it was in Neutral. I put it back into Park and then tried again with the same results.
I moved it to 2 and it went in Reverse. Back to Drive - goes in reverse. I turned the car off to restart it and now it won't start. Lights all on, battery fully charged, doesn't turn over. Nothing.
About 10 days ago the powersteering system went. The fluid leaked out totally and although I tried stop-leak and refilled, it all leaked out immediately. (not sure if incidents are related at all)
What's going on here? All fluid levels are normal other than powersteering.
ETA: I just went out to try shifting into another gear to start incase it's not going back into Park -no change. There is no resistance when moving between gears I notice...
