Driving a vehicle while it's missing can damage the catalyst convertor(s) which can run upwards of $1,000 each.
Try hitting a local AutoZone for a free scan and post your code(s).
They were common for a loose heater hose clamp leaking coolant on #4 cylinder (rear passager side) killing the coil and/or plug. Code P0304...

Check codes by doing the key dance, and count the flashes coming from check engine light, and let me know. I have a 1997 intrepid, and the key dance works.
