Airbag and ABS lights come on and the power windows and climate control stop working. Problem is intermittant and is the latest in a long series of electircal gremlins possibly related to BCM. I replaced ignition switch, checked fuses. I heard of a TBS 080595 NHTSA # 39986 that might explain the problem but cannot find a copy online. Any dangers in replacing BCM with used unit? Possible bad ground somewhere?

I have a 1997 dodge intrepid engine size is 3.5 and appox miles is 185K miles I am having the same problem with the abs and airbag lights stay on no power to windows or heater. What is working for me is when I start the car I turn the key back just a little bit not to far or the engine will die the lights go out and everything works. Someone thinks its a bad connection in the switch which was also replaced. Until I can get other major repairs taken care of this is what is working for me.

Thanks Intrepid1997. I will give that a try.
FYI: You and I are not the only ones who have had this problem. I have seen lots of postings on other sites with the same issues. One possible clue: A Technical Service Bulletin #080595 called "Airbag Light On; Multiple System Failures". I haven't had any luck finding a copy of this TSB but a summary I read suggests that replacing the Airbag System Diagnostic Module can fix the problem. I ordered a used ASDM and might try that. I also ordered a used climate control head head to see if replacing that does any good. As a last resort I just start replacing parts. I already replaced the ignition switch and the BCM (used) with no luck. With all the people who experienced this problem I am surprised there are no permanent solutions out there. I will re-post if I find something that works.
Thanks again.
