Transmission problem
2002 Dodge Intrepid Front Wheel Drive Automatic 100,00 miles

My car seems to be running in first gear (low) only. RPM running high and it doesn't seem to be automatically shifting into other gears. Diagnostic trouble codes read PO 700 and PO 888. What does that mean?

Hello,

Your vehicle is in what is called Limp Mode. It is so you can get the vehicle somewere to be checked out and/or worked on.

P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction

P0888 TCM Power Relay Sense Circuit

Check the TCM Relay located in the Power distribution Box under the hood. You may just want to replace it to see if it fixes the problem if it doesn't then the TCM (Transmission Control Module or Computer) is bad.
