I have a 2000 dodge intrepid with 65,000 miles and a 2.7L engine.

Our car starts rough on the first start of the day, but once it starts it runs really smooth. If you turn the car off, and start it again right away, it starts up! But if you go into a store and the engine is hot, you come back out and it doesn't start reliably. Many times it will start on the 2nd or 3rd try.

I have read others that had this problem with other cars and some suggestions were:

ignition timing
fuel pump/filter
PCM (computer)

I have already replaced the cam sensor, crank sensor, engine coolant temperature sensor, and air temperature sensor. I can get a used computer for like 100 bucks. I am not sure if I should go that route first. NOt sure.

None of these have really made it better but they defeinately didn't hurt. Any suggestions please!

I have the same problem with my wifes car my suggestion to you is to do a leak down check. Check the injectors to make sure they are not the problem. My problem turned out to be the check valve in the fuel pump being bad causing the pressure to leak down. Hope this helps.
