I am guessing the head gasket blew on my Intrepid, there is water present in the oil, and it seems there is an oil leak as there is a lot of oil present underneath the car, with what looks like oil sprayed over the engine (drivers side) and expansion tank. Would this be an accurate diagnosis? The car seemed to be running fine but then started stuttering, and when put into neutral, died completely. I was able to start and run the engine a couple of times on idle, but when throttle applied, it would die. I am not running the car right now as I saw the water present in the oil. What would be a realistic price for repair of this?

More than the car is worth. Once the oil mixes with anti freeze, it destroys the bearing inserts as well, this means rebuild or replacement of the engine. Call around for prices in your area.
