1999 Dodge Intrepid Automatic 148000 miles

I started my car and it would not move forward or reverse. The tires would not even spin. I don't know if its because of the cold or what is wrong, what could be the problem?

When you pressed the accelerator while in gear does the engine rev up? If so, it sounds like you may have a serious internal problem with your transmission. While the vehicle is running, is there an overdrive (OD) light that is flashing?
