My 1999 Dodge Intrepid has a really bad fuel / exhaust smell that we smell when we're either at a stop light, or if the cars A/C is on. Even though we shut off the A/C, we can still smell it outside of the car. I've replaced the gas cap and it hlped alitle bit. I've changed Spark Plugs, PCV valve, Transmission Filter and oil, Air Filter, Changed engine oil and filter as well. I took the car to get a Diagnostic done on it. The mechanic told me of a P0700 Code, or something about the Transmission. Can you give me some ideas? Thank You..

You may have 2 problems going on. The transmission codes needs to be diagnosed, but the raw fuel smeall may be a leak at the fuel rail. Call the dealer and see if any outstanding recalls are valid for your car. There was one about the fuel rail leaking.
