TRANNY SLIPPING

Dodge Durango

I have a 1999 Dodge Durango 5.9L V8 360ci with 142,000 miles. It always drove fine untill a noise came from the bellhousing area and every since then it doesnt have torque. Obviously it sounds like my torque converter but I just want to make sure. The shift points are fine and smooth but when I turn it on it talks a while for it to build up torque to take off and some times as I slow to a stop it slips out of gear I change the tranny fluid and gasket not to long ago and if I add the Lucas Tranny treatment bottle the slipping goes away. I also noticed now that the rpms ride higher but the speed is not the same only when its hot outside. The tranny picks up the drive gear fine but again it when it builds up torque after a while then it drives ok or if the vehicle is desending on a hill it slips out and jerks as I accelerate to back to a straight surface. Im thinking I need to do a complete flush of the tranny including the torque converter or should I replace the torque converter. Thanks for the help.
