My tire/front end on drivers side has a clicking noise and my steering is shakey. This has just started and I cant afford any repairs right now. Any ideas?

If my 4x4 does not need to have the hubs turned and is turned on by a dial inside would that still possibly be the problem

It does not matter that the 4X4 is not on. The 4X4 axles still turn, only without power. So the noise will be present even more than if 4X4 is engauged! Check at the whhel for front axles troubles.

Would that apply to just the drivers side? Also, it is not a constant noise but frequent enough to worry me and with the steering being shaky. Would I be able to tell a problem simply by crawling under and looking or do I need to jack it up?
