I just changed the spark plugs and pcv valve on my Durango's 4.7 L V-8. Now the engine idles extremely high. I double checked the spark plug gap and it is okay. When changing the pcv valve, the tube that runs from it to the back of the engine came out. I am not sure if I got it back where is was supposed to go as I could not get see it and had very difficult time getting my hand back there to feel for a hole. Could that cause it to idle very high. If so where exactly is the hole located that the tube plugs into. Battery was also unplugged for a while. Not sure if that has any effect either.

Best make sure that tube is set in that hole properly/seated if not its gonna create a serious vacuum leak causing your problem-if not could be that it needs an idle relearning
