I have an 1988 Daytona with a blown head gasket. My mechanic says its not worth doing a head job on the 2.2. How hard would it be to upgrade to a 3.0 V-6?

We only recommend direct fit parts. Here is why. When you make a change like you mentioned, everything needs changed such as wiring, vacuum hoses, computers, motor mounts... It isn't worth the effort. You end up with more money and headachs into it than it's worth.
Why does he feel it isn't worth replacing a head gasket? It is a straight forward job on your engine.
