I have a 99 dodge dakot with around 80000 miles.

I have just started to have a problem with the engine.... When I am drive the engine will just shutdown and sometimes it will fire right back up and sometime I will have to wait, also when this happens the check engine light comes on of course and also I noticed in my odometer a message NO BUS apears???
If you have any suggestions or know what the problem is you would be a tremendous help.
