In normal driving conditions the frontend will bounce when traveling over rises or dips in the freeway. Bouncing; meaning the frontend will bounce up and down many times for a distance. Over small bumps and ruts it seems to act ok. I've had the dealer look at it and they tell me it handles just like their new ones and they can't find anything wrong with the shocks / struts.
that's another question. Which is it? Mopar calls them shocks but replacement parts stores say they're stuts.
Please help if you know. It's annoying
Thanks,
Charlie

Your Dakota is not unique in the issue.
1. They are front Struts.
2. The dealer does not have anyting but the original struts to replace the current ones with.
3. The root cause of the concern is the design of the struts was made for improved ride. YUCK!
4. As of this date none of the aftermarket manufactures makes a repalcement strut that is more like a truck ride. I have looked at all the Web sites.
5. Even the 4X4 Dakota have the same ride.
6 I am looking to using the Dakota model TRX front struts as replacements on my 2007 Dodge Dakota.
7. My winter tires are BF Goodrich Mud terrian 265X75/16. Now with the struts it is even more interesting.
