Hi,

Truck starts up and quits (rpm falls to 0 immediately ).

No dash warning lights.

This occurs in park and neutral.

If the gas pedal is pressed the truck does idle. After five-ten minutes I punch the gas pedal several times and the truck will maintain rpm's and is drivable.

This event happens about 70% of the time upon a.M. Start-up.

This problem ( sometimes ) presents even after the truck has been running and fully warmed up, i.E, I stop for coffee and attempt to start again.

On occasion there are two warning beeps which are not synchronized with the problem nor with any dash indicator lights. May just be a red herring.

I've noticed the trans may be slipping a wee bit and the trans shifter is a little sloppy.

Thanks.

May be a problem with the Idle Air control motor. Sometimes they will stick/not work but dont set codes. Try cleaning it with carb cleaner first, that may change the symptoms, which would let us know that we are on the right track
