Hi there. I have a 95 Dodge Dakota that all of a sudden just keeps dying everytime I put it in gear and give it gas. It was fine when I drove to work, then started acting crazy when I went to leave. I will start fine, but die everytime I go to take off. Any ideas? I thought maybe the fuel filter? It will be expensive though if that it is because I have to take it to a dealer to get that fixed right?

Listen, I need you to check fuel pressure. You can do it youself. Here is a how to video and directions. Check the pressure and let me know what you find. As far as the fuel filter, it is along the frame on the driver's side. You would be able to replace it.

NOTE:You will need a fuel gauge to do the test. Most parts stores will lend or rent one to you.

Let me know what you find.
