Hi I Have a 1993 Dodge Dakota with high miles we have put in 2 transmissons which I hear is a common problem but the current problem is it sputtering after it warms up. When driving at hiway speeds and especally accelerating it stalls and sputters but it is fine at idle I have changed the fuel filter and the problem just started. The truck has sat for about a year because of the transmisson but ran fine for a week after the transmisson was installed. It wont do it until it has been ran for a while and it usually starts at a higher RPM it has been ran like this but it never dies and idles fine. Please help. Love the truck 318 in a small truck is alot of fun for speed and power.

Hi:
If the check engine light isn't on, I need you to check for vacuum leaks (especially near the EGR). Also, check the fuel pump pressure. Here is a "How To" video to watch.

https://www.2carpros.com/dia/test_fuel_pressure.htm

Fuel pressure gauges can be purchased from 2carpros or many parts stores will lend or rent them. If the fuel pressure is good, make sure the catylatic converter isn't starting to plug. Listen for hissing or ratteling sounds coming from the exhaust.

let me know what you find.
