1992 Dodge Dakota truck wont start

Ran until the water pump went out sat for a week before I had time to do it replaced water pump now the truck will turn over but wont start

Check for a spark and suspect coil
check for fuel and fuel pressure and suspect fuel pump
what do u have missing?

Found out that the timing chain had broken one of the sprokets replaced it but now cant get it in time

Yeah I have that but how do you know if its right because I know there is 2 cycles to each one can anyone help
