On a/c mode everytime is working great. When set on heat mode the air is not heated. Can the thermostat cause this? I notice too that temperature gauge is not passing the lower mark. Please advise me.

If the engine isn't getting warm, then you won't get heat. Chances are the thermostat is stuck open. Replace it and that should take care of it.
