74 colt dies while driving

Car in question is a 74 Dodge Colt 1.6L Auto. Plug wires, dizzy cap, fuel pump, filter, alternator voltage regulator, ignition coil and resistor are all new.

Car basically starts up and drives ok for about 5-10 minutes then suddenly cuts out, when restarted right away it tuns over runs then dies after a couple seconds or if I try to rev it. If I wait a while it starts up again runs for a few minutes then does it all over again.

Fuel pump seems to be working fine and keeping pressure in the lines, don't know if it has anything to do with it but the resistor gets extremely hot after a minute but still works, car does burn a bit of oil as well.
