i am trying to find out if the engine is an interference motor. It is a mitsubishi 1.5 liter

This website says that 93s have interference engines.

says that 1985-95 1.5L Mirage Precise and 1990-92 1.6L Mirage have interference engines. While searching a couple of websites say that the "Precise" is a typo that the writer(s) of that list screwed up on, so It seems very likely your engine will be an interference engine.
