1994 Dodge Colt distributor problem

I have a 1994 Dodge Colt ES 1.5L 4G15 engine, automatic tranny, 2wd 140, 00 miles (1000) on a new engine. In the past 3 years I have had to replace the distributor 4 times. The last time the distributor was only 5 weeks old and had less than a thousand miles on it.
Does anyone know what is causing this to happen? Thanks for any help.

Are you replacing with rebuilds, or new?

I am replacing with rebuilds apparently new ones are prohibitively expensive. When I bought the car it already had a rebuilt in it so assume the original also failed.

Well I went thru all the tsb's for this car and found nothing! You might want to call or visit with the service dept, and ask them if they have figured anything out. They will help!
