Greetings: 1st time user !!! The above vehicle has a 3.8L and 127000 miles on the speedo. During a recent cold spell (-26 below!), I killed the battery trying to start it. It wore down to the sorry click...click...click... of the solenoid. I charged the battery in the car, installed a battery blanket, and, pushed the car into the sun ! This worked and a few hours later the car started. The first time I drove it, I noticed the speedo was defective. The needle was now on the WRONG side of the stop pin at 0 mph. When the ignition is on, the needle pushes against the bottom side of the pin, approx. 7 o'clock. With the ignition off, the pin drops to the 6 o'clock position. All of the other gauges work normally: Tach, Temp, Fuel, Digital mileage read-out and trip odometer. Any ideas? Will I need a new instument cluster? Can this one be repaired? By whom? Where? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ed in Canada. Current Temp: ~-20 below. Wind chill ~ 37 below ! Hope it warms up soon !!!

take the speedometer out of the dash and you might be able to shake the needle back into place over the pin if not then your will have to take the cover off of the cluster and push the needle over the pin but do not take the needle off of the cluster you will have to buy a anew one if you do because it will not be calibrated and will not display true speed good lck if you did not get it fixed already
