Hello, our 1999 Grand Caravan has 160K miles. It has the 3.3 liter V-6. It has developed an intermittent problem with not starting. Sometimes it starts up. Sometimes you turn the key and nothing happens. Sometimes you turn the key and the motor turns over but won't start. Right now it will NOT start, but will run when you shoot ether into the air box. We've had it in to our very reliable professional mechanic, bur it would not throw any codes, and it started fine all the time he had it. What does this sound like to you...??? THANKS VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP.

If you have no power then it's either a fuse, relay or a broken wire problem...

It was the fuel pump.
There was power to the fuel pump, and our mechanic told us that if you get under there and bang on it you can make it work (which it did) SO we replaced it. That made the van run, and it's been running fine... BUT it gave us the intermittent starting problem this morning... it did NOTHING on the first three tries turning the key, then started FINE on the 4th try... ANY IDEAS...??? We are trying to avoid buying the $800 starter module from the dealer and then paying shop rate labor for them to install it... THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP :)
