2006 Dodge Caravan, 3.8 L Engine, Problem started at 7,000 mi and now have 14,238 Mi on the vehicle.
After sitting for three or four days, the battery is dead. Had in service seveal times - new battery installed to no avail. Battery has a constant current drain of 0.25 to 0.33 amps with everything off. I have personally monitored the current drain and voltage and have never seen the drain increase but the battery will slowly lose voltage so that after anywhere from 2 to 4 days without restart, the car will not start. Usually by the forth day, the voltage is so low that the interior lights will not come on when opening the doors. Alternator puts out 34 amps (using a clamp-on meter) after engine is first started and the battery voltage reads 14.5 volts when running and 12.4 volts after fully charged. After 24 hrs, the voltage is 11.8 volts. Dealer perplexed as to what to do. I'm ready to "Lemon-Law" the car. Any thoughts? Thanks
