2007 Dodge Caravan stops blowing cold air after a few hours

After driving for about 3 hours on the highway, my van stop blowing cold air but the a/c starts up fine the next day. WHY?

When it stops, does the compressor continue to cycle? Are you running it on MAX AC all the time?

Yes the compressor keeps running. About a month ago, I noticed that when I turned the knob to the max position, it stopped completely. Therefore, I have just been using it as high as it will go. Day to day use it is maxed; on long drives I turn it down once it cools off but the A/C is usually always on in some capacity.

If the compressor continues working, that tells me the AC is working. If you are losing cold air in the vehicle, it tells me there is a problem with the blend air door. The door is located near the heater core. Its purpose is to determine if you get heat or AC. If it is closing due to vacuum loss or a malfunction. That is where I would start.
