Purchased new; over last year reported sporadic locking up of car when placed in reverse in garage. Car would not slowly move out under own power. To get out of locked up position, placed car in drive moves on own and then into reverse and now ok to back out. Most times no noise followed but sometimes while backing out a scraping sound occurred. Dealer thought it was trans and tested for and found nothing. Said don't return wait till something breaks. When asked if brakes were looked at said yes, & everything looked ok. So I started recording how many times needed to back up the car before noticing when locking up occurred -- seemed to be around the 6-7 time. Lately got so bad that even going into drive would not release the lock; even after several reps. Finally forced the release while in reverse and it did so with a bit of extra gas. Took to dealer immediately; did service on rear drum brakes and removed ground rust ridge. Hopefully issue resolved. Man, I suspected bigger problem than what tech found /did. Odd dealer couldn't spot earlier -- i.e. NEEDED TO DUPLICATE FIRST. Any thoughts? Just seems so odd. Sent just to share experience.
