2004 Dodge Caravan Engine Size unknown Front Wheel Drive Automatic 103000 miles

I have taken my car on a 4 hr road trip and noticed it felt like dying at high speed. It felt like it wasn't getting enough gas. It did stall once coming to a stop in a parking lot. It is like gasping and puling for gas. I took it to Firestone and they suggested to see a transmission repairer and thought it could be a valve or solonoid. Any ideas?
