Transmission problem
1997 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My speedometer bounces back and forth, I will push on the gas and it will drive fine then the transmission will hesitate then jump back into gear. While this is happening the speedometer is jumping all over the place. There is also a knocking that I can hear coming from behind my glove compartment, this happens when i first turn on the car and will sometimes occur when car has been driven for a while.

If that knocking sound is internal engine, get it looked at, maybe an engine oiling issue. As far as the speedometer, I'd check the vss, vehicle speed sensor. Sometimes these location pictures aren't the best.
