Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan. We recently just bought it from a person that was getting tired of fooling with it. It was running great, and one day the man's wife stopped at a store and came back out and it would not start at all. I do believe they put all sorts of new sensors on it. It will turn over like it wants to start, but it will not. They also replaced the timing chain. We can turn the ignition switch and nothing happens, not even a click. My husband can open the relay box on the driver side under the hood and hit some kind of relay or something and it tries to crank that way, but it wont. I would love to get this van going, it is in such great condition, other than this problem. Please help if you can!

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine at least 3/16 away from ground -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, Do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key on? If not check fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay if so, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
