I TRIED SPRAYING FUEL INTO THE AIR CLEANER AND VEHICLE STARTS BUT THEN STOPS. THAT TELLS ME IT IS EITHER THE FUEL PUMP OR A RELAY. I CHECKED THE THREE WIRES COMING FROM THE TANK - ONLY ONE IS HOT (THE PURPLE ONE) I WAS TOLD THE GREEN ONE SHOULD BE HOT BUT IT IS NOT. I TRIED SWITCHING ALL THE FUSES UNDER HOOD AROUND BUT NOTHING WORKED. I DO NOT THINK THE FUEL PUMP IS BAD BUT SOMETHING ELSE. IF YOU LET IT SET FOR SEVERAL DAYS SOMETIMES IT WILL START AND RUN FOR DAYS AND THEN STOPS. Anything I can look for?

You can check for spark and ignition here:

You did swap the relay? IS power going into the relay?

IF power is going into it, but not out of it, then replace the relay. If it comes out but doesn't reach the connector to the pump, then you need to check the continuity of the line.
