1995 Dodge Caravan defroster

When defroster is turned on to hot, the tempurature guage goes into overheat area and the guage light comes on. When you turn it off the temp guage goes back to normal

Does it do it when you have the AC or heater on?

Yes, when I start off and it has run for about five min. The guage goes to hot, while still running after about 15 t 45 seconds it goes back to normal and stays. It does it each time I start after sitting and has got cold.
