1999 Dodge Avenger Oil Pressure

The oil pressure fluctuates consistent with the engine's RPM's. If, at a stop, the idle drops to 500rpm, the car dies. What's up?

It's normal for pressure to change when RPM's change. However, how low does it get? You could have a bad oil sending unit. That is the sensor that sends the signal to the gauge. Not an uncommon problem. As far as the engine dieing, has the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks?
